I heart Kiehl's

After reading a lot of positive things about  Kiehl's earlier on this year I decided to pay my local store a visit. The staff in in store (and online) are really helpful they really do know their stuff!! When you go in the do offer to give you a consultation to find out what your skin type is (mine is very dry) I don't feel it was really necessary for me as I knew I had dry skin but I let the lady go ahead and give me consultation anyway. This confirmed what I already knew....I had dry skin. Although it did give me a good first impression as clearly the guys at Kiehl's knew a lot about skin!

I sat down with the consultant and spoke about my skin issues and she recommended the ultra range for me. I initially just got the ultra facial cream as I did just want to try it before making anymore purchases. After a few days my skin improved massively! It was no longer felt tight dry and flaky and I could finally wear foundation again! YAY!!! After a few months I did go back and purchase the ultra toner and cleanser and they do all work really well together and leave my skin feeling baby soft.

This year as winter approached my skin again was very dry and flaky and I slowly gave up on my trusty Kiehl's cream. After around a month of just using cocoa butter I was having major breakouts that just kept coming back with a vengeance. If finally gave in and went online and spoke to a very helpful lady on the Kiehl's chat. I told her my concerns and asked if she could recommend a product for me. She did suggest that my breakouts could be a result of my skin being so dry that excess sebum being produced was causing my quite nasty spots and well she could not have been more right! She suggested I try hydro-plumping re-texturizing serum concentrate so I read through all the reviews and well I didn't see any negative comments and with 20% off in the Black Friday deals I decided to give it a go. I do not regret my purchase AT ALL. It has truly been amazing!!!! After only a few days use my breakouts have stopped and my skin feels so soft and just more healthy. I got a little pot of ultra facial cream as a free sample too and when that runs out I will purchase more!

I do highly rate all Kiehl's products I have tried. It's the only skin care brand I have gone back to! If you have never heard of them I suggest to go research now! Or pop into your local store for advice. You really won't regret it!

Single in the city

I am now well into my twenties and having recently come out of a relationship the thought of the unknown kinda scared me. I mean I have had a couple of serious long term relationships and have kind of accidentally never had much time alone. My friends would say I am a relationship type of girl but I have always been ok alone it gives me time to focus on myself and work towards my goals without distraction...which right now I have no idea what my goals are.

After a brief liaison with an ex (probably the only one I have loved unconditionally) which has now come to an abrupt halt. We were definitely an opposites attract kinda love story. I found myself single and freaking out. With everyone around me settling down and getting married, buying their first home or popping out babies I do sometimes feel like I am being left behind.

I then decided to brave tinder. Honestly tinder is a weird concept to me and make me into a very vein picky person. I got talking to one guy and decided to meet up however I did back out and swiftly deleted tinder. Call me old fashioned but the idea of online dating does not appeal to me. Was was wrong with the days of actively going out and meeting someone. As for tinder guy he seemed nice and genuine but honestly I probably wouldn't have been able to spot him in a room full of people, that along with my dislike of dating just meeting a complete stranger had me running for the hills.

Whilst I am now taking some "me" time I really do feel the pressure to settle down. Surely I am not the only one...

My Autumn Wish List

I can't quite believe how quickly Autumn has snuck up on us with an exceptionally warm start to October it seems we have been eased into the cold weather and darker days this year.

Autumn is staring to become one my favourite times of the year (obviously summer has to be number one). Every year I look forward to purchasing new knitwear and a new coat...but who doesn't. I do like to get cosy in the warm with a hot chocolate. With Halloween and Firework night coming up there is also plenty to look forward to. October is also the month of new series of all my favourite tv shows, the waking dead, once upon a time and Geordie Shore have all now started again! YAY! This just adds to my excitement over Autumn.

I have compiled a wish list of the items I NEED to purchase like now...well at least some will go on my Christmas list.

I have fallen in love with this cloud bag from the Cambridge Satchel Company. The mini cloud bag is my favourite as it will be perfect for a night out with the girls. It does come in other sizes if you wanted a more everyday bag. I am now just having a hard time choosing the colour I want with 6 beautiful shades to choose from. This is definitely going on my wish list for Christmas!!!

stacey tan mid heel ankle boots from Carvela Kurt Geiger
One thing I love about the colder months is purchasing a new pair of boots. I found these beauties from Carvela by Kurt Geiger. I feel this year I need some new ankle and knee high boots in brown and black. A girl can't have too many shoes right?

I am not normally the kind of girl who wears a lot of jewelry. I have a Thomas Sabo bracelet and a Tiffany necklace I do love and should wear more often. I have admired all things Pandora for a while they have some beautiful pieces. Lately I have wanted a plain and simple ring to add to my collection and found this Pandora ring is perfect!

Florence Emily 2.0

The past few weeks have definitely the time of change. I have recently had a change of hair colour and style and I have to say I LOVE it. My blog has also undergone a makeover which I feel looks a whole lot better (I am slightly bias) but I hope you all like it too. Sorry if anyone has seen visited during the makeover process however it took slightly longer than I expected as I am not a html wiz (unfortunately). I have also decided to get my bum back in the gym. After loosing a pretty impressive stone and a half I have now hit a bit of a wall. I will keep you all updated on my progress or lack of progression. So with so many changes and a busy schedule it has taken me away from blogging hence why it has taken me so long to write this post.

Anyway back to my hair makeover. Here is a picture of the finished product!
Like most people this time of year for autumn (or fall) I have darken my locks. Ombré is a lot easier to maintain and with the lack of sunlight over the winter months there is no worry of my colour fading too quickly. I have also decided I need to start taking better care of my hair so I have picked up some heat protection spray which I will be revewing shortly. I love how my hair looks when curled and I can curl easily with my GHD's so I am now making a promise to myself to stop being so lazy and to style my hair properly.

My Top Tips For Saving

I have recently just brought a brand spanking new Mini...(eep). Whilst they are expensive cars getting one on finance offers you the chance to own your dream car which for me was a Mini. I have spent the past year lusting over Minis and often found myself checking out cars in the Tesco car park. After A LOT of research and thinking I finally decided to take the plunge and buy a Mini.

Saying goodbye....

Today's post is a sad one. I had to take my cat (Millie) to be put down. She reached the age of 17!! And sadly old age got the best of her. It has been an emotional day and I will miss her loads. It already feels strange without her. She was my childhood pet and saying goodbye to her after so many years and good memories was hard.

It is good to know she is not suffering anymore and is not any pain but there is definitely a big hole without her.

Hair Of The Day

I hope everyone had a lovely long Bank Holiday weekend! Personally I had a four day weekend to attend a friends wedding and an after wedding BBQ the next day. I decided to get my hair done and had it put up by a friend at Desimone Hair. And here is the finished product....

Saturday Brunch

This weekend I spent some time in one of my favourite cities....London. After a great night out in Shoreditch and a few drinks and a much needed catch up with a good friend we headed out to soothe our hangovers with a full English breakfasts.

A catch up in photos

So I may have been a bit absent from the blogging world as I have been busy catching up with friends.

My Day In Photos

I just wanted to share a little snippet of my day with you all so here we go!

My inspiration

Can we all stop and take a moment to appreciate Khloe Kardashian?!

Birthday celebrations

I turned the big 24 on Wednesday and to celebrate I went out with some friends for dinner and drinks. We went to La Tasca for dinner which used to be one of my favourtie restaurants, however they have changed the menu a few times over the past few years and not for the better (in my opinion). They also used to have all you can eat days from a set menu which was great value. Anyway I tried the new 'improved' menu once again and I feel it was nothing special however the food was still good. The thing I love about La Tasca is the tapas. I always struggle picking one item on a menu so I love tapas as it means I can try a bit of everything.

It's been a few weeks now since I completed pretty muddy and I just wanted to do a quick post to thank everyone that donated! I managed to raise £105 which will will all go to cancer research UK which is an amazing cause and charity.

So thank you to each and everyone one of you that donated!

My latest Primark purchase

I went into Cambridge today to have a browse around the shops and came across these cute Disney shorts in Primark. They are actually made for "beach wear" but I intend to wear these as pjs.

I am a massive Disney fan and the little mermaid is one of my favourite Disney films so I was so happy I came across these.

New Look

So I have been meaning to update my Blog for a while however I am not the most technical of people so it has taken a while.

With that being said I have finally done it (gives self a high five). Anyway I hope you all like the new look and added features. I have included my Instagram feed and follow buttons so you can keep up to date with anything new.

If you have any Feedback please feel free to comment or if you have any suggestions on posts you would like to see I would love to hear.

(Sorry for the marks on the mirror)

Dress-Zara

Shoes-I honestly can't remember

Make up- all Mac of course!

I did it!

So I completed the pretty muddy 5k race for life and it was fun but very hard! (Admittedly I walked half of it....more training needed next time)

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that supported me and donated money to such a great cause!

A day in Granchester

So today I am blogging from the comfort of my bed after just having a wisdom tooth removed 😞. If any of you have had one removed you will know it painful and you spend most of the day with a swollen face...always a good look.

This weekend I had some uni friends come visit so I thought as it was a very sunny day I would take them to the orchard tea rooms in grandchester and then onto a pub lunch.

We all decided to have a cream tea.

I have never been to the orchard tea rooms and I'm now wondering why not. With plenty of comfy deck chairs it's the perfect place to relax in the sun.

Travel Diary...Mexico

3 weeks to go

My number for race for life has come through! And it has got me excited and nervous for the race.

I am not prepared to run 5k at the moment. I can do 3k comfortably so I've got another 3 weeks to kick my butt into gear!

Wish my luck! (I am going to need it)

Happy Easter!

hope you are all enjoying the nice long Easter weekend

This weekend I will be trying to get through all of these tasty Easter eggs!!

Kinder is probably my favourite chocolate (just a big kid at heart) but you also can't beat a good Lindt bunny!

Well I hope you are tucking into your Easter eggs and enjoying yourselves.

Pretty muddy

So I have recently signed up to do the pretty muddy race for life which hopefully we be great fun and is also for a great cause.

Any donations would be appreciated.

Sunday Brunch Mexican style

Breakfast is probably my favourite meal of the day from pancakes to eggs benedict I just love making cooking exciting breakfasts (especially over the weekend) I recently found a recipe for Huevos Rancheros on the cook with m&s app. This is a classic Mexican breakfast so full of spice and flavour.

This works pillow spray: product review

I have always had problems with getting to sleep and staying asleep. I regularly go through patterns of sleepless nights and find myself tossing and turning getting frustrated that I can't sleep. In the past I have tried various tactics to help with getting to sleep. I have taken Kalms which are great and a more natural alternative than sleeping tablets however I find they are not a long term solution. I have also tried various bubble baths and bath bombs which are great but I always find by the time my head hits the pillow the affects are worn off.

A brief update

So yet again "life has got in the way" of my blogging.

So I am now going to start scheduling posts and write down blog ideas ready for new content to be uploaded.

I have recently started on a new fitness regime in order to be bikini ready for Cancun in May (I will be sure to share plenty of photos). I will be sharing my fitness journey on here for everyone to read. I have also started to try and eat as clean as possible I have found the whole foods app really helpful it is full of tasty and healthy recipes and they are all free!!!!!
